After A Laser Hair Removal Treatment
Post Treatment Protocol
What to do after a laser hair removal treatment
- The treated area may feel warm like a sunburn.
- You may see some small red bumps that could last two or three days.
- An ice pack or chilled face cloth helps soothe the treated area.
- Minimum SPF 30 sunscreen UVA/UVB must be used for sun exposure before and after treatment.
- Use moisturizers on the treated area like aloe vera gel or tea tree lotion.
- Treated hair will fall out anywhere from three days to four weeks.
- Deodorant may be applied between 12 and 48 hours after treatment.
- If necessary, you may shave between laser treatments, however avoid any plucking or waxing.
- Makeup can be applied as long as the skin isn’t broken, preferably 48 hours after
treatment.
Do Not:
- Expose the treated area to sunlight.
Avoid:
- Sun tanning and/or tanning beds.
- Hot showers, baths, hot tubs, or saunas for 12 to 48 hours.
- Exercising for 12 to 48 hours as it may be uncomfortable.
If the skin is broken or a blister appears you can apply Citracin.
If you experience an irritated raised rash after treatment, Benadryl should help relieve the itchiness.

Book your following treatment in four to six weeks as outlined by your practitioner.
